During a recent visit to Mexico (hence the recent absence), I visited a small coastal town called Puerto Morelos. It was a beautiful fishing village that provided a haven for scuba divers, snorkelers, and families alike. Puerto Morelos is rumored to be the village that inspired Jimmy Buffet’s Margaritaville!
While walking around the town’s center square, I happened to notice a quaint bookstore. Alma Libre sells new and used books in both English and Spanish. I unfortunately didn’t have a chance to stop in and peruse their selection, but I thought it was worth a photo nonetheless. So, if you ever find yourself in Quintana Roo make a stop in Puerto Morelos to visit the lovely beach, great seafood, and Alma Libre bookstore!
During my time on the beach I read a TON! I may have broken my own record, 3 books in 2 weeks. Come back often to check out the upcoming reviews about the South in the ’60s, movies and books, how Dezi Arnez sang to an orisha, and the power of a love-hate relationship with characters in an eerily realistic book.
