Scotland, Men in Kilts & A Book Binge
This WWW Wednesday:
SCOTLAND!
This week the focus is all on Scotland. After browsing for a new TV show to watch this past weekend, I came across a new Starz original series. Realizing it was based on a book series, I immediately sought out the first installment.
Outlander has been a wonderful escape to rolling hills and thick Scottish accents. Author Diana Gabaldon explains that, while technically historical fiction, Outlander has a bit of everything in it because, “I wrote the first book for practice, [and] didn’t intend to show it to anyone, and therefore saw no reason to limit myself.”
Binelli’s book about Detroit is still on my nightstand and is being read. However, sometimes you really just need to escape and binge on a good, fiction page-turner.

I loved Outlander when I read it. It’s a fantastic series. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Yea? I’m currently on the fence about continuing the series. It got a little too romancy for me at the end (I finished Outlander in bed last night after I scheduled this post). But I’m always willing to take the recommendation to go forward with a series, especially when the first book was such an escape into the imagination.

Am I the only person left who hasn’t read The Outlander series. Yes, probably. My Ws are here: http://alenaslife.wordpress.com/2014/08/06/w-w-w-wednesday-books-read-reading-and-to-read-3/

I only read it in the last four days – the first book at least. I had never heard of it until I saw an ad for the Starz series.
