Sandman’s Bridge of Knowledge

Screen Shot 2014-07-29 at 9.26.04 PMUn-bought, unloved, and used books need a home too. Sandman’s Book Company, an independent bookstore in Punta Gorda, Fl., found an artistic way to recycle them.

Sandman’s created the Bridge of Knowledge, as reported by a family friend.

The bridge (#BookBridge) was built in 2013 out of thousands of books that were slotted to be pulped — a.k.a. destroyed. Rather than “kill” these books, Sandman’s decided to build a Roman style bridge out of them in the store, according to their website.

Below you’ll find two photos taken by a family friend, Louise.

For more photos of the book bridge and information, visit the building album or their website.
