Books,  Top 5 Wednesday

Judge a Book By Its Beautiful Cover

When I started Bookstagram in February, I decided to participate in Top 5 Wednesday. Here is the first one! I’ll be cross-posting these on Insta and the blog.

Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme created by Samantha and Lainey. Weekly themes are currently developed by Alex. You can join Top 5 Wednesday here.

This week’s Top 5 theme is beautiful covers. Here are my top 5….

Beautiful Cover

Beautiful Cover

1. From Here to Eternity by Caitlin Doughty
Iโ€™m a sucker for art nouveau style! This cover has the added beauty of the artistic skull.

2. Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness
The color scheme of this cover gets me. I LOVE purple so the plum colored sky with the star charts, city skyline, and stylized sun are just ๐Ÿ˜.

3. Le Petit Prince by Antoine De Saint-Exupรฉry
The illustrations by De Saint-Exupรฉry will always be a favorite.

4. The Garden Angel by Mindy Friddle
No joke โ€” I bought this book based in its cover. I was drawn to its visual tone. Have I read it yet? Nope. But I do like looking at it.

5. Dandelion Wine by Ray Bradbury
Iโ€™m a sucker for nature. Thatโ€™s it.

Honorable mention:

Consuming Religion by Kathryn Lofton

I wouldnโ€™t consider this book cover beautiful, but it is intriguing and aesthetically pleasing to me. Plus, I had to include a religion scholarly book.
